UTM Campaign Link Builder

Generate consistently tagged campaign URLs while preserving existing query parameters and page anchors.

Setup

  1. Download the workflow JSON from this page (or use workflow.json from the builder package), then choose n8n's Import from File command.
  2. Edit SampleData with landing-page url, source, medium, and campaign. Optional term/content fields distinguish keywords and placements. Run the workflow and copy taggedUrl from each output item into your campaign.
  3. Select Execute Workflow. The result is in ProcessData.

Behavior and limits

Replaces existing standard UTM parameters and preserves other query parameters and fragments. Missing required values or invalid URL formats stop the run. It generates URLs; it does not publish campaigns or report analytics.

The supplied example needs no credentials. Any additional integration you connect requires its own configuration and tests.

Verification

Imported and executed successfully in an isolated n8n 2.44.5 instance on 2026-10-22. Sample campaign URLs passed, including existing query strings and fragments. A non-HTTP URL was rejected.

Failures appear in the n8n execution view; this template does not send error alerts. Review the output before connecting downstream actions.
